In other studies, scientists have found mounting evidence that, by revving up your metabolism naturally, resveratrol can help you lose weight safely and effectively.

It should be noted, however, that most resveratrol research has been conducted on rats, mice, and fruitflies. While there is reason to believe these findings are applicable to humans, we will not know for sure until further human tests are performed.

Nevertheless, the incredibly promising early results of this research has led several prominent doctors to add resveratrol supplements to their diet now. The famed Dr. Mehmet Oz of the Columbia University went on the Oprah Winfrey Show earlier this year to extol the virtues of resveratrol supplements and revealed that he himself takes them daily.

So is resveratrol right for you? Most doctors agree that there are little to no side effects when taking resveratrol at the recommended dosages. Talk it over with your doctor to see if they recommend adding these supplements to your diet. You may be surprised at how good resveratrol can make you look and feel.
